Default Is a P54 A/C bracket required to keep A/C in a B18C swap?

Basically I bought a JDM B18C and want to keep the A/C in my 93 Hatch. Do I absolutely need the P54 bracket? Or can I use the A/C bracket that came on my B18C (I think it was a P72, but I'm not sure). . . Is there clearance issues? Or can this one be modified to fit so I don't have to buy the P54. Thanks guys.

Just buy the P54 AC bracket and use your Civic AC compressor. Everything fits like factory.

This is a fact. I know this from experience.

Yup he's right. I have the p72 bracket on my car right now, and you can only get two of the bolts in. The other two are about a 1/2" too far to the left. I am was going to buy the p54 bracket, but now I'm thinking of going without the A/C at all. A/C is convenient, but I don't want to lose the extra power (It's addicting....). Good luck!

Correct. The P54 bracket will also work on a B20 block if you do a B20-VTEC setup, as we also used the same bracket on a customer's car to retain his stock Civic AC.

Yep, worked like a charm on my 96 EK and a Sanden compressor.

Well, the engine I'm getting has A/C pump on it already. . So will I still need this bracket for fitment issues? Or will it still work as is?

CRV uses the same type bracket. That's why it worked for you.

P54....NEXT!

Which drive belt do you use, the civic's or integra's a/c belt?

I believe if you order a 97 crv bracket it is the same as the p54, but with a different part #, it supposed to be a lot cheaper
