Default A/C bracket for B18C into 93 CX hatch

I searched and found nothing...

I have heard that you need to change the B18C GSR A/C bracket over to a Del-Sol VTEC A/C bracket to keep the factory Civic A/C.

Is this true? Or can I make the GSR bracket work with the Civic A/C pump?

If I need a Del-Sol bracket, where's the cheapest place to find one? Anyone have one used?

Thanks!

If you want to keep the Civic AC components and have a true bolt on install you need to use a DOHC VTEC Del Sol AC bracket. It has P54 in the part number.

Trust me on this one. I have used this bracket dozens of times.

1994 or 1995 Del Sol Vtec Bracket.. Otherwise you wont be able to bolt it up all the way and it will not work correctly..

Edit: Its 144 bucs from the dealer.. but i think you can get them offline for like 100 bucs strait up.. not sure though!

you can get a lighter bracket that is made for the swap from jdmhondaparts.com its like $120 http://www.jdmhondaparts.com. personally i just got rid of the AC weighs too much, i did and i am in FL and its not that bad.

B20b works the same as the del sol P54 one. All holes line up.

That bracket will bolt the motor in the car, but you can't use the Civic AC.

Also, I pulled my motor yesterday and I have a del Sol mount with the P54 ac bracket in my 96 Civic.

Get the del Sol ac bracket from a 94-95 DOHC Vtec (P30 in the part number). :D

I just completed a JDM B18C swap into a 93 Civic Si hatch. The AC bracket I put in is from a 1994 DOHC VTEC Del SOl it has P54 in the part number. It works perfect. I think you need the P54 bracket for your 93 CX swap not the P30.

Actually the full part number is: 105496.

Ordered it today from Majestic Honda. $106.82.

Thanks guys.

One more question:

Is the tensioner pulley the same on the GSR as the Del Sol VTEC? It is separate from the A/C compressor mount. Just hoping it is the same so I can save $30...

yeah...you can use the GSR tensioner pulley but its separate from the mount...damn more money

also you need the mounting bolt and nut that goes thru the ac mount...
best way IMO to put that on is to lower the driver side engine mount...

also its a good time to change out the receiver...

so does the 96-97 del Sol and 99-00 Si.....

Works like a charm on my 96 CX.

The P30 is the one I've always used on a 92-95 Civic......

What the heck is the P30 bracket from then? I bought a 95 Del Sol bracket new from Honda and it had P54 on it.

Did you use your AC compressor? Both ac brackets will bolt the motor in the car.

The 96-97 del sol/ 99-00 Si bracket (38930-P54-000) only bolts the 96-00 Civic compressor.

The 94-95 del sol bracket (can't find the damn number) only bolts the 92-95 civic compressor.

Again, you CAN use the 38930-P54-000 bracket in a 92-95 civic to mount the motor, just not the civic compressor.

Is 38930-P54-000 the part number you bought?

Here is the part number that I use:

94-95 del Sol is 38930-P30-000.

Now here is the funny part.

I just called a local Honda parts counter and the dood looked up all this in his computer:

94-95 del Sol = 38930-P54-000

96-97 del Sol = 38930-P30-000

99-00 Si = 38930-P30-000

I've been doing swaps since 1996 and have done/ assisted 10+ swaps and have always used the P30 for a 92-95 civic with the 92-95 civic compressor and the P54 for the 96+ civics with the 96+ civic compressor.

I pulled my motor last week and it's got the P54 bracket. The pic above is that bracket (I took the pic).

It wouldn't be the first time the parts counter has the wrong info on their computer.

Anyone ever buy a cable tranny seal kit from them? One of the inner seals is wrong and the oil just pours out like it's not there........

I used 38930-P54-000 to bolt a JDM B18C into my 92 Si. Also reused said Si's A/C compressor and it bolted right up.

Yes, seems like the P30 and the P54 both work with e 92-95 Civic.

I went to a friends house on Sunday to swap a tranny in a 99 Si.

There were two EGs there both with ac. One had the P54 and the other had the P30 bracket. The compressors both came with the Civic but were two different brands. One was a HADSYS and I couldn't make out the other name.
