Default idle problem

b20 into an ek.

We had the firing order wrong (it still ran) but it would drive REAL rough.. so we hooked it up just like it was on my friends c5 and it drove well. The only problem is that the idle would bounce rapidly from 1100 to about 2400 (at operating temp.) and 1400 to about 3100rpm when its a cold motor.

We know it is not the IACV, cause we swapped them, we appear to have no vacuum leaks (sprayed brake cleaner around all the hoses and fittings).. the only thing we haven't checked is the FITV. Now i've witnessed FITV idle problems before and the idle problem would stop at operating temperature (which doesn't for me).

Also.. when the firing order was wrong on the car, it was idling steady at 1100rpm at operating temp... but now at operating temp with the proper firing order it has this really bad surge problem... which makes me think it isnt the FITV
