98ex B16B swap help
well i guess this is the route im going to go. how much wiring will be involved what all parts do i use off of my car and the engine? Im going with the Hmotors changeover package what else do i need? I guess im just lookin for a parts list.
I need the Si rear "L" bracket and i use my stock driver's side mount correct?
Im also guessing the only wiring needed is extensions right?
thanks

Re: 98ex B16B swap help (blowoff23)
yeah, that SI rear bracket you NEED!... nothing else works. and the rest of your mounts should bolt right up. but if you have any cracks or what not, i would replace them. b series is a lot more wieght/power for old mounts used to d-series. and as far as wiring, i just changed the dizzy wiring and extended everything off of my d harness.. and hardwired the vtec in. pretty easy. like 3 wires and a ground. thats if the motor is obd1. which i think yours is.

Re: 98ex B16B swap help (myEK=slow)
well i thought that most vehicles changed to OBD-II in 96? I am just looking for the easiest swap for the car. Ive never done a swap before but the D16y8 gave out and i figured why not swap it since i got the money. I ve rebuil engines and replaced them before but im just looking for the most "plug and play" engine for the car nothing wild.
So could someone tell me what they would to the car???

it shouldnt be hard.... but there are 2 obd2s... there is obd2a and obd2b...... i didnt realize it comes with the engine harness and ECU... yeah, you should be fine because the engine harness runs through the firewall. it should be pretty easy.

hate to be a pessicimist, but make sure you have 200 bucks incase something goes wrong. it always does. and it always helps to have someone around that knows what they are doing incase you have a question.
