i found my emmissions report. :(
ok awhile back i got a practice smog test on my car 1996 dx with a swapped in usdm 00 gsr.
mind you i knew right off that i wasnt going to pass because i'm running an jdm ITR ecu, and i have no cat.
these were my results.
passed visual, timing is at 16 BTDC
15 MPH
HC
max 60; meas: 172
CO
max: .52; meas: .84
NO
max: 459; meas: 2318
25 MPH
HC
max: 43; meas: 157
CO
max: .51; meas: .91
NO
max: 746; meas: 2468
the only reason i ran the test was because i go to the college where they do ref checks. so i didnt pay anything. but allthose emmissions are grossly high. I just bought an obd2 cat and finally got the obd2 P72 ecu i needed so that i can also pass when they try to connect by scanport.
i'm gonna man up and try to get it officially bar'd next week... so i had a a question... whats seafoam and what does it do? t
hese guys are cool as hell they warm it for you for as long as it takes for everything to be good and ready for the test, but i had another question, should i wait now or until spring when it gets hotter?

Those numbers are just about right for a car without a cat.
The cat should be all that you need.
Seafoam is a de-carbonizer. To remove carbon build-up on valves and pistons which increase Nox.

Re: i found my emmissions report. :( (thesmogman)
ok great
i changed out myplugs awhile back and peered into the cylinder with a light and i saw someslight carbon on the top of the slugs so i put in some "guarenteed to pass" stuff inthere but i havent check it since... and i also took off my intake mani awhile back too and checked the valves and ports and they were real clean so i'll post the results next week as to whether i pass or not.
