Can 96 Civic wire harnesses be used for an OBD1 00 Civic/B18b1 swap?
Ok first off yes I'm new to this site. So haters gonna hate but anyways on to my question. I have a bone stock 96 ek hatch that i picked up for parts. I also have a 00 ek with a obd1 ls swaped into it. Having alot of problem finding a definate answer by searching alone. Is it impossible to harvest the EWH from my 96 and rebuild it to work in my 00 ek with the b18b1.

Re: Multi car project.
EWH Engine wiring harness would be my guess, and yes this is possible but it will take a lot more work than just using your existing harness and adding vtec, and other sensors.

no it will not plug into ur gauge cluster the same . wires are arranged differently between 96-98 and 99-00 u need a 99-00 civic harness and an obd1 conversion harness with a obd1 teg ecu. in most states this will not pass emissions u will need to run a obd2 ecu in order for it to work.

The engine harness does not plug into the cluster. The distributor, injector, and alternator plugs are different from OBD1 to OBD2A to OBD2B. It all depends what harness is being used in the car currently. If its an OBD1 harness with jumpers to OBD2B then you will need to either find another OBD1 harness and reuse the jumpers or run the OBD2A harness outta your parts car with jumpers. I do believe the shock tower plugs are different from OBD2A to OBD2B but i could be mistaken. Im running and OBD2A motor in my OBD1 car and used the OBD1 harness and i just needed jumpers for the alternator, distributor, ecu, and injectors.
