It is a holster and that was my first guess.

I don't have a problem with carrying on a motorcycle, but everyone should be honest to themselves and realize they probably won't have a chance to use it on the bike. It's more about having your CCW when you're off the bike and not having to put your holster back on in some discreet way.

I guess all of my guns are too big, or my jackets are too small, but I haven't found a comfortable way to carry and ride, unless it's my little EMP in a pocket holster, but that doesn't do much good.

and to Freeltec, no carrying a gun is most likely not necessary. If you're know you're going to be in a dodgey area, it's best to just avoid that area. Having a gun does not mean you can take more risks.
I'd rather have a gun and not need it, then need a gun and not have it.

im not a 100% sure, but if he was off duty, and was still concealing, im pretty sure he would have some discipline coming his way. this is why you don't see LEO's in plain clothes with holsters visible in casual clothes. its not a good image for the public. because "he" looks like one of us, and can carry a gun, well, then so can i.

now.. hes really screwed if he's a CCW. your firearm should never be visible. if he was stopped, and a LEO knew his type of weapon and location, im sure that CCW would be yanked, unless he was the mayor.

CCW's are very hard to hold in california, one of the most strictest states in the nation... there's already enough gang bangers here that have there own.. judges dont' want good citizens being hero's with guns of their own.

i have a few friends that are LEO's.. some ride, and some dont. but NONE of them alow their weapon to be scene. not only being questioned or noticed by another LEO, but once the wrong person see's it, it you become a target. as far as i know, all LEO's are required to carry off duty. one of my friends will only ride with a shoulder holster. and he never takes off his jacket. i always made fun of him standing in the sun when its 100 degrees in a leather jacket, untill he threatened to shoot me. lol

Here in washington open carry is actually legal, but they have some very ambiguous wording surrounding it. Something like, you can open carry but if anyone feels threatened by you they can call the cops and have you arrested if the cop feels similarly. And come on, who's not going to feel a little uneasy about a person with an open gun sitting on their belt.

The whole point of a CCW is that criminals don't know who's protected and who's not, so they have to approach everyone as if they were.

I was puzzled until I looked to the left and realised you meant Washington state.

I live near Washington DC. Virginia is fairly pro-carry (it's a must-issue state), but DC is very, very bad with it.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Unless they use the FD shirts to pick up females, since wimminz love firemen for whatever reason.

Why? If they keep at it a little longer, they can be part of the freak show.
