Re: Shift linkage removal
8mm punch and a hammer, or a pneumatic air hammer.
seriously.. stop what you are working on, go to sears, and buy a 8mm punch. its the only way.
There is some bolt you can easily remove from the engine bay that is the right size as well, but then you will be hammering on a bolt that goes to something. and i cant remember what it is.
just buy an 8mm punch.

I just put this little image together yesterday for someone else having bitch pin issues over at hondaswap. technically that pin is referred to as a wrist pin, but whatev :p
give this a try:
Use a small c-clamp and placed it around the bitch pin. then on one side use a socket that is deep enough to contain the entire wrist pin once its pushed out. on the other side use a square drill bit piece (or another bit that the business end fits within the pin). setup should look like this.
then start turning it by hand till you cant twist anymore. grab some vice grips and use them to turn the handle on the vice. slowly the pin will start to push out and eventually fall out into the socket. all without bashing on things with a hammer
ninja edit: ^the bolt you're thinking of is the a/c compressor bolt.

The hammer doesn't work so well if it's a 5lb machinists hammer and you have little to no room under your car. Haven't seen a bitch pin post in a while. I think I may try the c-clamp next time around.
