How to remove shift linkage?
I was just wondering if anyone knows how to remove the shift linkage from a 97 ex. I'm doing a b16a2 swap and i don't know how to remove the shift linkage. If there is anyone who can help me, please reply.

2 bolts under the car where the actual shifter lever is, one bolt that holds the stabilizer to the block and the bitch pin. Then wiggle it off or remove the exhaust, but you dont need to remove it really.

i think he is talking about the infamous bitch pin. Look under the rubber boot near where the linkage goes into the tranny, there is a pin that must be knocked out to remove the linkage. You need to get a punch and a BFH, (ok, the BFH is not necessary, but I like to use it when i get the chance) and hit it out.
WD40 or something along those lines might make it easier. dont lose the bitch pin when you give it that last hit and make it go flying. Good luck

Re: (turbociviccoupe)
haha i almost resorted to a sludge hammer but i didnt want to break the linkage
i think if yoy put lock washers on eack side of the nut and bolt it should be stiff enough. and if the swap is a serious thing i guess once you have the nut and bolt in you could tig weld it!! that should hold and i dont think it would be loose...

How the ***** did you use a grinder?
Use an air chisel. If you don't have access to a compressor, use a hammer and nail punch. It is a bitch tho. Just be patient.

Re: (NScivic)
that pin really isnt that hard, if you do it correctly. Get the right size punch, and when necessary, the BFH (big f*cking hammer). And i dont really agree with the bolt idea so much. A little to ghetto rigged for my liking. but whatever works
Also it should be noted that you can take the engine out with the linkage still attached, for those of you who cant conquer the bitch pin.
