y7/y8 timing issues
as stated i have a y7/y8 head and i can not get ignition right without cranking the dizzy all the way forward or backwards.
is the timing different with this combination?
i also have a skunk2 cam gear.

What does that have to do with what he posted?
Are you sure you set your motor to the proper position when you put on the timing belt?

yes i have my ecu jumped
and yes i checked the crank pulley every time i adjust so its set right.
now on the y8 head there are two marks. There are also 2 markes on the cam gear but the two marks on both are impossible to line up.
and guy wiht ecu....yes i have a basemap for my motor. chipped p28.

cam gear is most likely the problem, see these aftermarket companies produce these products, and YES, they will work for multiple applications, but not 100% accurate.
i bet if you advance it 4° on the cam gear you can get the timing right.
