Would a bad rod bearings affect compression numbers?
I keep hearing this weird knock/click sound coming from my engine bay. I only hear it when i am driving. I won't hear it if i just rev it. And it will have to be over 3k for me to even hear it. And it's an automatic so 3k is pretty high. What i'm trying to do is figure out if what i am hearing is detonation or a spun rod bearing. Would either of these affect an engines compression numbers? I'm trying to figure out what this is. Thanks!

know it wont. if you had a spun rod bearing it will be really loud. the sound could be loose valves. do a valve adjustment and see if the noise goes away

Re: Would a bad rod bearings affect compression numbers? (fmrprojects)
Correct me if i'm wrong here, if a rod bearing spins it will be loud at any rpm right? If that were the case i'm not sure that is my problem because i don't hear the click/clack unless i am driving. And i usually only hear it if i am going uphill or pushing the car hard. I've heard bad cv joint?
