Default sunpro tach question????

hey all i was given a sunpro tach drag n tech or something like that. and i dont have any insructions. their is a red (power) black (ground) white (light) and a green (???) wires. i think i know some of them as i listed above but i have no clue about the green one. someone told me it goes on the ignition coil and someone else told me to splice into a wire that goes to the distributor they did not tell me which wire. i took some picture around the distributor if someone can point out the wire or just tell me which one it is that would be great.

well, that tach is a piece, so i wouldn't mount it in a permanent spot, but you should hook it to the rpm signal wire going to the ecu so you don't have to go through the firewall.

The "light" wire can go to an ignition-triggered power wire or a dedicated light-triggered wire. The green wire is Tach signal output...it tells the tach what rpm you're at.

that green wire is the rpm signal wire. It needs to be connected to a baby blue wire that is a part of your harness. It runs to a loom on the driver's side of the engine bay over in front of the brake master cylinder. that is where mine is tied in. You can see the blue wire i am speaking of in the picture with the distro. you will see it on that driver's side too.

Here is my link for my write up on HAN where i installed my sunpro super tach II in my Dx:

Hope this helps

haha, tap into what? you're showing the whole harness.

Why dont you do it the easy way, and wire it to the RPM testing plug located drivers side where the engine harness plugs into the in-car harness. Its a blue wire, with a plug. Should be taped to the side of the wiring harness.
