Front lip!!

Front lip!!
Ya so i just bought a new front lip from some ******* bull **** shop, and it didnt really seem like right application for my car, there was an incredable amount hanging off the side of my car, and i had to cut it, but either way it came out decent on the cuts.
Now my question is, the lip gives me about .25 of an inch from the ground and i scrape <U>everywhere</U> i go... so what do you all think, should i raise it up a bit? or somehow cut the bottom of the lip?? all opinions welcome!!

are you sure that your lip is 1/4 inch from the ground?
If you really are this low, then you really should not need to be advised as to whether or not to raise the car.
