I will soon be trading my car for a del sol si. I like most of the stuff it has, but after driving my cx for almost 5 years, I've grown to not like PS. I was wondering IF I do go through with the trade what would need to be done to fully remove all that excess BS. IMO it just adds weight, and takes away a couple of WHP.

WHP lool, no man not really

but search for looped power steering... it will answer your question

You remove everything but just re-loop, where the PS reservoir was.. so the PS stays lubed up...

Its not hard to take off. It isn't easy to do it right, though. Search for eliminating/deleting/recirculating power steering, theres a few topics on it. They'll show you how to recirculate your power steering.

The PS racks have a better steering ratio than the manual racks. I drove a cx for 3 yrs, and even with 205's on a recirculated rack, its fine. Recirculating really just amounts to connecting the 3 line together, and adding a breather.

you will deffinetly want to go with a kit for removing it. just relooping it is way hard to turn the wheel i found out when i was waiting for my kit to show up. it is well worth the money spent.

IM "padawan". he is a member on here and is were i got my kit from. was very good, came with instruction. think i paid $75 shipped. vouch for him deffinetly
