piggy back ECU's? / Controllers?
What do you guys think of those ECU's that just hook up to stock ones and remap a/f ratios or cut speed limiters, stuff like that. I saw some from JR but those are brand new brand names and cost tons of $$$. I'm running a D16Z6 with a P28 virgin, looking to get a lil more hype out of the ECU without spending 1000 on some super unit with boost control 'n **** (I'm not running forced induction).
Any suggestions or parts you may have would be cool

unlesss you've done internal work to the engine you're not going to see much from tuning. Maybe 5hp max.
If you're really dead set on tuning your engine it will take a wideband O2 sensor and Crome. look it up on pgmfi.org.

I read up on a wideband O2 sensor. From what I can tell, it only increases emission efficiency (yeah your car will run a lil better, but nothing noticable). I also see why it said piggyback's suck. SO I'm probably looking for something with a more aggressive a/f map put in it, and maybe a speed governor (if there is one on a 95 ex) removal

a wideband O2 sensor can be used as an emissions device but you can also use it as a tool to set the fuel maps correct while tuning the car.
When you create a base map for a program like Crome or Uberdata it's a rough estimate on what the engine will like.
The wideband O2 is used to sample the exhaust air so you can tell if your engine wants more fuel or less. Too much fuel and you will loose hp and get poor MPG, too little and it will run lean and loose hp and possibly kill the engine.
the "chips" out there are as much of a guess as a base map is, beware of them. There is no such thing as a "super chip" or a chip that will work on all engines a like. Every engine is different and every mod makes it that much more different.
Tuning is the only way to get your engine to run at it's best.

basic tuning equipment consists of a wideband, laptop, burner and the right program.
but I understand. I was intimidated by the idea of tuning at first too.
Keep it simple...it makes learning the basics easier, but be warned the more you want to do, the more you will have to learn.
