Default new owener of a d16

i just picked up a z6 block today. the kid sold it to me for a 1buck. He told me it has a bad rod. i thinking of building with new Oem parts for FI. can i just new rods only..

The sleeve(s) could be damaged.

If he threw a rod there's a good chance the sleeves are damaged and the block's useless unless it's bored and sleeved. See what a machine shop says.

Check condition of the crank also. Spun bearing with bad journals = junk crank.

well for $1 its worth the nuts and bolts

i too off the oil pan and the rods looked fine too me.. the block camewith a head also. i looked at the vavles, but i dont what im looking for

take it too a shop and save urself some embarresment. They can tell u what ur looking for.

If anything you can sell the head for 50 bucks O.o

EDIT:
NVM, u only bought the block, okay, so it's just 300lbs of scrap metal O.O.

Or completely rebuilt from the ground up it's the basis for a D-series turbo
