Default new clutch? newb question

Hey guys and gals, I had a problem the other night... When I was driving home, I noticed that at times when i went into first gear, it would grind a bit, not the kind of grinding when your not fully in gear, not as loud atleast. going into 2nd gear was fine, when i went into 3rd gear, it felt like it wasnt fully in the gear and could be easily taken out of gear w/o stepping on the clutch....going into 4th was good, but again could take it out of gear easily w/o stepping on the clutch....what does this mean? one of my friends told me it may be my pressure plate?
thanks

If you mean you can put it from 3rd to neutral, that is normal.

i have the same probelm with my hatch, but its with second, and i can shift from 2nd to 3rd then to 4th without steppign on the clutch and i had a new clutch and pressure plate put in about a month and a half ago, so i dont think its the pressure plate. could be synchros, or just a bad clutch,

are you asking if you might need a new clutch? try this. when your in 4th or 5th gear and you floor it..and if the rpms goes up but your car doesnt accelerate..then thats a good sign that you need a new clutch.

i was wondering if I would need a new clutch kit. more about the problem, when i keep it in 3rd and drive, it grinds sometimes and gets out of gear.....also when i started my car tonight...i heard an odd sound coming from the hood....it sounded similar to a t.o bearing out, but not as loud or frequent sound....
