Default should i go to dealership?

as everyone else seems to be having this problem i need to know if this happens to you guys too. my second gear syncro has practically gone to **** and i think if grinded my second gear so much it's almost gone. but this is my problem....at high RPM's i can still shift through the syncro, but you can hear it grind through. and at low RPM's if i leave it in second gear, you know, like coming up to a speed bump and slowing down sort of thing, it will actually slip out of second gear and start grinding and i dont even touch the damn thing.....im pretty sure im just going to go the the dealer....but i thought any suggestions would be great and i was wondering if anyone else has it this bad and what they did to fix it.

it happens to me in 5th gear and i'm too lazy to replace the synchro but double clutch and it usually wont grind. (shift from 1st to neutral, let go of clutch, press in clutch and go into 2nd). works for me except when its really cold but that would be a super pain in the *** to do that in 2nd gear every time.

I've had the syncros go out on me and trust me if you dont fix it it will spread to the rest of the gear box.

If you are covered by warranty take it in and have it serviced. There is a TSB regarding the syncros in all RSX's. They will cover it for free.

I had the syncro grind in 1->2 gear shift. I ignored it and thought it would go away or maybe it was just cold outside. Well eventually 3-4 got the grind and even 5-6 was starting to show signs of grinding. Took it in and had it serviced. They said all my syncros were bad 1-6. The problem will only get worse and double clutch is not going to make the problem go away. Have it serviced or it will get worse.

there is a TSB out on them? whats that kinda like a recal or what? my buddy is going to buy an 02 maybe today and it has 50k miles on it. he can get a 3 year 36k miles bumper to bumper so i guess he should get it with the car just in case? if this tsb is major does that mean you can take it to acura and they fix it warranty or not for poor buid or what??

Yah getting warranty is the way to go when buying used.. its worth whatever you pay for it.. I havent had any problems with grinding noises... or cluth related problems with my 04 S. I heard that this is something that was recalled on the 2002 and 2003 models.. anyone else have any insite on this?

a tsb is a technical service bulletin its normally a revision on an ongoing issue that a certain part or a car is having some tsbs are covered and some are not. all recalls are covered under warranty no questions and they are no charge to the customer.
