Re: need help with codes!!! (barney510)
10 1.a.t.
17 v.s.s.
20 e.l.d.
22 vtec pressure
41 primary o2 heater
65 secondary o2 heater
ok a p30 unless it is an obd2 p30 wont throw a code 65
is it an obd2 jdm b16? if so there is no oil switch for vtec, just solenoid. is the iat even plugged in? is everything else plugged in? is there such thing as an obd2 p30? i am not sure of that he hee.

Re: need help with codes!!! (barney510)
You got a short in your system, iono why it's throwing a code 10, but it explains why it's throwing all the other MIL's.
Fuse #15 under dash controls all of those except the VTEC oil pressure. I'm assuming you didn't wire up the VTEC oil pressure switch on that one.
As 10, did you hook up the IAT? OBD-II cars ('96+) had an IAT that plugs into the intake arm - you should have had that sensor with your Y8.
The 20 is because of the short - something back-fed your fuse box, and 17 (VSS), 41 (O2 sensor heater), and 65 (secondary O2 sensor heater) are all one circuit - controlled by fuse 15 under the dash board fuse box, check to see if that's blown - but if that's blown your speedometer won't work either.
So 20, 17, 41, and 65 are all because of a short in one of those harnesses (most likely either the harness going under the intake manifold rubbing against the manifold support bracket or an O2 sensor making a bad connection and grounding out).
As for 10 and 22, those are separate, make sure the green plug on the VTEC solenoid is hooked up - you shouldn't have had any problems since you had an EX it should have plugged right in - make sure your VTEC oil screen isn't clogged. As for the IAT - that should have swapped right over, it squeezes into a grubber grommet on the intake arm - should have been one on the stock motor too.
Did you change any sensors recently?
Hope that helps some.

Yeah, it won't throw a code 10 either, the IAT was a OBD-II thing.
He must have an OBD-II P30 (I didn't even know they existed...musta been from an OBD-II del sol or something...iono...)

Yeah, but fuse 15 doesn't just "go out" - it goes out because there's an electrical shortage someplace.

ELD = Electronic Load Detector - it detects whenever your fuse box gets a back-feed - usually do to a wiring short where sensor wiring is grounding up against the chassis. It goes off when you get a surge back that's enough to pop a fuse.
There's 2 O2 sensors, primary and secondary.
