would a bad map sensor cause a high idle my car has been idiling wierd lately no cel's ,but the tonight i had one come on and it was the map and i messed with the wiring and the cel went off and it seems to idle better im just curious if that could throw my idle off.

it could but it would definately throw a code as soon as you notced the difference

Mine used to throw a map code randomly for no reason, i would clear it and it wouldn't come back for a while.
I think you should look elsewhere for your idle problem, maybe a vacuum leak or low coolant level

got taP on your IAC motor and see if it helps. if the rpms drop u need a new one

ok so i changed the iac valve on my car i took the one from my old sohc and put it on there and it was running good then i ran it hard for a minute then the cel came on for the iac valve any ideas
