Default iacv in 1998 civic

im experiencing erratic idle in my 98 civic lx - the idle just goes up and down once the car heats up. i have been checking around and the general consensus is that the iacv is the issue. where is the iacv located? and could this actually be the issue? PLEASE HELP !!! i have a trip from fl to ny planned inthe next week and i would appreciate the help on this.

if its an lx i beleive its the white looking deal underneath the throttle body, i have a buddy who has a 96 lx and his iacv is located underneath the t.b.

If it's continuously going up and down, it sounds more like a vacuum leak to me.
