Default which headstuds to use on mini-me (y7.block z6.head)

im putting a d16z6 head on a d16y7 block. i bought the d16z studs and they were too long... so i went and got the d16y studs. they are all fine except one. the one by the flywheel to the intake side. where the nut would sit, its a lil higher than the rest. has anyone ever put studs on a mini-me (using a z6 head)?

ps- i searched... nothing found.

i had the z6 studs... they were too long. it'll work on the last flywheel/intake stud, but i dont wanna grab a stud from that kit.... for those with experience with studs, can i unscrew it from the block a little (enough to screw on the bolt) and maybe put some loctite? it should torque down fine.... considering the stock bolts dont grab all of the thread on the block......

nah man, tighten the studs as much as possible before putting the head on. use a nut on the stud and a deep-well socket to tighten them. one set (i would think the Z6 set) should all work.

yea. i thought the D16Z set would work as well. however, all of them were too long except for the one on the corner of the flywheel/intake manifold that's too short on the D16Y set.... i can prolly use 1 stud from the D16Z set, but then I'd be tampering with it and im looking into selling them. the only thing left to do would be to use a d16z stud or unscrew it a lil with some loctite...

i'm stumped...... i really wanna put this engine together already!!!

My mini me is a y7 block with a z6 head and I used the y7 head studs and one z6 stud where that one is higher.
