Default Which ARP head studs to use?

I currently have a D16Z6 block with a D16Y5 head. ARP makes 2 sets of studs for D series, one for D16Z and one for D16Y. Does anybody know which ones would fit my hybrid application?

I was under the impression that it was the other way around; you use the head studs that match the head. Anybody else have some input?

bump

Can anyone confirm that you use the head studs that match the block, not the head?

I bought D16Y headstuds to put my D16Y7 head onto my D16A6 block, and they were way too short. I ended up using D16Z6 studs, and had to run 4 extra ARP washers on the 2 studs at the back corners of the block/head. I suspect you will need to do the same. I think you need to match the studs to the shortblock but that's no garantee that it'll be a plug and play fit.

You have to buy the z6 studs plus 8 extra washers. The washers are about a buck a piece from ARP.

The washers can be found on the ARP website. The ones you need are 10mm unchamfered with a 3/4" O.D.
