Default getting a 92-95 hatchback

im new here and im getting a 92-95 civic hatchback,i want to do a motor swap with a turbo, but i dont know anything about hondas, all my knowledge is on dsms. i own a 93 eclipse gsX. i always liked the 92-5 hatch what gen is that?what motor should i get whats more reiliable and its gonna be turbo for sure,i was thinking of a b18c or b18c5 itr ????thanks...... X

its a5th gen ,and id say get a b18b1 .its an ls,if your going turbo thats what id do,do a search and ask the guys in the forced in induction section

The b18b comes stock with a lower compression and is cheaper than any other b18.

if your lucky you could find a b18b full swap for less then $800 with low milage. I'd def. consider that swap.

vtec works wonders with turbo setups

i guess an ls would be best if you dont wanna mess with the honda build

are you still interested in a 92-95 hatch???? I have a 94' w/ 62,000 .... it has a black widow front and rear bumpers .. and buddy club sides.. i have a tv molded and fiberglassed in my steering wheel... 17" motegi mr7's .. dual exhaust.. custom guage pod ovr my passenger bag! i have pics if you are interested! custom paint and graphics .. this car is an eye catcher!

so what whould i expect out of the ls and whats b20? what whould i run in the 1/4 mile just with the ls vtec.whould the ls vtec be good for turbos?why the ls?i whould really like more info i want to do this one time and the right way,looking to hit 11s or 12s.thanks........X

If you're aiming for low 12's, then IMHO the B20 (out of the CRV) would be your best bet due to the larger displacement and resultant greater torque. Even better would be to use a head from a VTEC B-series and VTEC cams & make it a B20 VTEC hybrid, then turbo it. There are a multitude of parts that are interchangable between all of the B series, and for the most part, that is one of them. I understand there are some valve clearance issues with some heads, especially if the head has been serverely milled though, so you might want to further research this before you dive into it.
