Default swappin.

Hey, i just got a 92 civic hatch cx, puttin out a whole 70 hp, and 90ft/lbs of tourqe. i need somethin faster, and was lookin at a b18b. i was thinkin about this engine cause the non vtec will be better for a turbo to be put in later on. just wonderin how hard it will be to swap in a b18b. and how hard of a swap it is. should i take it to a honda dealership to have it put in, or to the speed shop? thanks for your time.

okay, VTEC has nothing to do wtih turbo. if you heard that they motor blows, it's just a rumor. a b18c1 or c5 will be nice. even a b16a will do.but i dont think you should get the type-r motor becuase of the highcompression and turbo dont match up.

the b18a or b18b is good for turbo due to its low compression. as for swapping it into your car, its a walk in the park, but i dont think you should trust a honda dealership to do the swap for you. do a bit of research on this and i bet you can accomplish this swap your self.

If you ask a dealer to do a swap, they will probably just look at you funny. Or maybe suggest you buy one of those leftover 2002 SIs that are not moving too well. Swaps are not something they do.
