fuel pump doesn't always prime
Hey guys, I have a 94 si, z6, no mods under the hood. I went to drop off my daughter this morning at her mom's and when I went to turn my car back on it would crank but not turn over. I tried starting it a few time's and realized I wasn't hearing the fuel pump prime. I kept turning the key off and half on about 10 times and still couldn't hear it prime. I waited a few minutes tried again, I could hear it prime, the car started, and no troubles for the rest of the day.
This has happened a couple times before, maybe 3 times in the last 4-5 months. I haven't been able to really look at anything in my car yet but I was hoping someone might have some insight into what the problem might be.
Thanks for any and all help

If you not hear the pump priming and the click when turn the switch to ONII. Sound like the main relay is given up. Remove it and check for cracked or to little solder at pins, or try a friend one or buy one from a junk yard.
You can resold the pins:

Re: fuel pump doesn't always prime
this sounds like a classic main relay issue for these cars, get the relay re soldered or get a new relay
if you want to be sure pull the rear seat next time it doesn't start and check for 12v at the pump

If you will read thru my post mentioned earlier you should gain some insight. Tom Cat just posted a complete check list for me.

These are the No Start diagnostics posts from the FSM that Harley is talking about. Some of it may be helpful for you to isolate your no prime situation.

In your case, I would probably start with the main relay page first to rule that out, after that start at the beginning. Honda has a thorough routine to find the exact issue.
Good luck
