floored the civic and didnt accelerate??
was driving my 98 hatch around and got agrivated at traffic i was in 4th gear about 2800 rpm and went to floor the gas pedal but i didnt accelerate maby went 5mph faster. i was down for a good 3 mississippi seconds and then i let of thinking something was wrong. when i went back and put normal pressure on the gas pedal it accelerated slow like normal but y didnt it respond at all to the smashing of the pedal.
im not stupid i know its not a sports car but not accelerating hard at all isnt normal for any car.
the clutch is fairly new and the rpms didnt spike at all when i did it so the clutch isnt slipping. thinking back i probably shoulda threw it down into 3rd but whatever.

im assuming you have a stock d16y7 and the car is not messed with. don't expect much to happen if you're flooring it at that REV count tachs tend to read 200-300 above so ya i can see why nothing happened. if the engine is old that's another reason why you're not feeling anything

I've never floored it in any Honda I've ever owned. Never had to. Even when I was trying to pass. I guess that's what happens when you do. And 2800 on 4th is also kinda low. I always downshift when I need to pick up speed to get the revs up.

There no issue here it's a d16y7 and he tried to floor it in 4th at 2.5k RPM's don't expect mcuh to "happen"
