95 civic dx stalling, VERY confusing
My friends D15B7 will start when cold and run smoothly and warm up then dies in about 15 minutes whether driving, stopping, and even when I let it dle it always dies. Brand new battery and icm, has spark and fuel post death but wont fire. I hear the pump, confirmed spark on valve cover bolt, exhaust reeeks of fuel.
Ive unplugged tps and iacv, both work. , cools down and fires up. Im at a loss

it's the egr. my buddies is doing the same thing. when it's cold it runs like a dream but as soon as it warms up it keeps the egr constantly open and it won't stay running for nothing.

I've had igniters fail after they run for a little bit, but could be coil just as easily. If the spark plug holes have oil in them then the hydrostatic pressure causes the plug wire to push up, arcing the contact and stressing everything from the cap/rotor to igniter/coil.
So get a spare distributor from a friend (if you can) and start troubleshooting parts with that. Does anything inside the existing distributor smell burned? You can test the coil while cold and some auto parts stores can test the igniter.
