Default ek tranny problem?????

i got a 97 honda civic hatchback with a stock motor & and stock transmision and today i have notice a big problem that when i start on 1st gear (somtimes continues on 2nd) i hear a loud scratching winning type of noise like if i am going in reverse that sound it makes and it sounds like if its coming from my tranny. and at the same time sometime my gear like goes out like if its in neutral but it still in gear it's done it on 2nd and 3rd gear. but i am not sure if its my ripped axle boot that is causing that (gotta change axle soon) or another thing i notice today when i was doing my oil change that around the tranny area that connects to the motor is wet like if somthing is leaking. i would really apreciate yall to determine what could be happening

Default

sounds like it could be a seriously messed up input shaft bearing. change the fluid and see what comes out...i bet a whole bunch of metal shavings. I had that happen to a transmission (not because of running low on MTF, which is probably what happened in your case)

you may be able to limp it by if you're really careful and keep and eye on the MTF.

if anyone wants to see carnage pics of my old tranny, i'd be happy to post them
