where should the rotor button be pointing when the cam gear is in the up position?it should be #1 right or should it be right before #1 or right after#1 this is a 1994 honda civic dx 1.5 16v sohc non vtec the reason i ask is because mine is on #3 new head install.

Didn't you post this a couple days ago? I replied...I think the distributor is installed 90 degrees out. Also, make sure both valves on the #1 cylinder are closed, otherwise you may have the cam gear installed wrong or in the wrong spot...

ok the cam gear has a key in it you can not install it wrong.also when i turn the distributor rotor it turns sideways and the groove in in the cam is up and down i thought that the distributor could fit only one way but i will go try now and make sure thanks for the reply.

If you dont have compression then you may have another problem. The dizzy is designed to fit only one way when the distributor teeth mate with the cam...mike
