VX all around is a lighter car. Kinda like the hf crx is or the cx hatch. The brakes are smaller, no features!!!!

Depending on the year and options that were picked, there can be quite a few differences.

The 94-95 civics had front driver and passenger airbags, while the 92-93s only had driver side airbags
The Si has :
power mirrors
rear wiper
intermediate setting on the front wipers
body colored mirrors
four wheel disc brakes
select models had ABS
larger capacity gas tank
a little sunshade above the rearview mirror to block sun that the main sunshades don't
extra bracing in the roof because of the structural weakness due to the moonroof
MUCH more tar for sound deadening adding to its much greater weight than the vx
the tranny is much better than the VX tranny
optional cruise control
a stock tachometer
power steering with a 15:1 steering ratio as opposed to the 19:1 manual steering rack of the VX
and stock front lip

There may be some other stuff I missed, but I think I got it all. Feel free to fix any errors that I may have made.

Neither if you want some power. In all seriousness though, get the SI. It has little power goodies and a sunroof that make it more enjoyable to drive if you aernt planning on making it into a speed demon. I/h/e won't do much for power, but will probobally net you a mid 15 second 1/4 mile time.

if not going to do much, then go with the one that has the most power which would be the si.

In that case, get the Si. It will benefit more from the mods you listed. You can always remove all the extraneous **** from the interior, the sound deadening tar, all that.

the p/s rackss on the 92-95 civic are 17.5:1, not 15:1. i wish they were 15:1..... that would be awesome

92-95 civic si's did not have power windows or locks. they can/could be converted from a EX coupe, but stock they did not have these features.
