The Basics
Restyling of Honda’s front-drive subcompact for 1992 brought the demise of the prior generation’s station wagon. But 2-door hatchbacks and 4-door sedans returned with a standard driver-side airbag. Sedans rode a slightly longer wheelbase than hatchbacks.

A 102-horsepower, 1.5-liter 4-cylinder went into DX and LX models. The top-rung EX 4-door carried a 1.6-liter four with variable valve timing, plus anti-lock brakes. Other models included the base CX with a 70-horsepower 1.5-liter four, a miserly new VX that featured a 92-horsepower engine, and a sporty Si with a higher-output 1.6-liter four and standard anti-lock braking.

1993 A notchback Civic coupe joined the other two bodies in’93, in mid-range DX and upscale EX trim, and a passenger-side airbag was available in the EX as part of an option group.

1994 A passenger-side airbag went into all Civics for ’94, and anti-lock braking became available on additional models. The LX gained 14-inch tires, while DX Civics stayed with the 13 inch.

1995 With a complete redesign awaiting the 1996 model year, the carryover Civics went to dealerships with no further change.

Enjoy

i think u have the weights messed up... i dont see how the DX can really weigh 100lbs more then the CX, im assuming that these are closer.

Default Re: [FAQ] 1992-1995 Honda Civic Specs/Standard Features (VX)

im still kinda uncertain about this... lol

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by B18C5-EH2 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
So you also see that the DX is 84lbs. more than the CX/VX. Why would this be? Here's what I came up with:

Bigger fuel tank - tank is steel, so bigger = heavier
Rear wiper/washer
More tar - seen it myself. DX has more tar than the CX/VX.
Side moldings - plastic, but still weighs more than the non-existent side moldings on the CX/VX
Rear cargo cover std. it weighs something, right?
</TD></TR></TABLE>

I still dont see how this is possible... 84 lbs is alot! i dont know much about d-series engines, but is there any possiblity of weight difference between the two models? Im not saying he is wrong, i just want this is make a bit more sense... since it is quite a significant difference for JUST those options...

My CX came with Vinyl seats but it's at 92 so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Yeah i'm not sure which years the Vinyl was offered. I haven't seen them on any cars but 1992's.

CX and VX has a 10 gallon tank, while the DX and Si have the 11.9 gallon tank. Keep in mind these specs are striaght from Honda, so regardless how much gas you've squeezed in your CX, VX, DX, or Si it dosn't matter. Honda probably only measures TANK volume, not the filler and what's already in the fuel lines, etc.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Dude, I think I see a swap in the near future of my gas tank. I wonder if the Integra tank is the same as our 92-95 civics, since almost all the chassis is the same. That would be even bigger rite? Just good to have for the people who do more daily driving than racing. ,

Hell I get 350+ miles on a tank. I fill up like once a week, so I don't see why you would need a tank bigger than the 11.9 gallon.

I'm pretty sure it was only offered in 1992... and only for the CX.

Cause I got a CX with a 10 gallon thats why. Maybe if I knew the specs to the Integra tank size, then I can say how much of an increase I would have. Not a dramatic increase, but if its not expensive to do, then why not? Its not downgrading rite?

It was a factory-installed option, it was not standard. Trust me.
