Re: D16z6 with a VX tranny? (tasco)
It'll work, but I wouldn't recommend it. VX transmissions don't have the best gear ratios, I would suggest getting an EX or an Si transmission.

Re: D16z6 with a VX tranny? (E.G.sAvAgE)
Everyone here is correct, it will work and does have really long gears, but my friend had a vx tranny on his si hb and it was really awesome cause he could tach the car to the rev limiter and it wouldnt even spin when he launched, it would just hook and fall nicely into vtec range, then if a car made any momentum on him they would soon have to shift and they would set back again(obvuoisly I am talking comprable powered cars). The speedometer would max out in 3rd gear. We also had fun with swapped hatches on the highway cause he could go to second while they were dropping to the top of third, he would have 5k of useable rpm while they only had 2-3k before having to shift so he could hold them off for a lil bit to there surprise......I really think this would be a great low boost turbo tranny cause it would stay in boost forever......sorry for the ranting just my 2 cents
