Default Crank but wont start, CEL stays lit. HELP please

Have a mini me with D15B7 bottom end and D16Z6 Head in a 93 Del sol.
Just put the engine in the car and hooked everything up and it wont start. When I jumped the connector to pull the CEL codes the light stays lit. But when its not jumped it comes on and goes off like normal. Spark plugs are new and gapped correctly, spark plug wires are new, distributor is new. I know I have fuel because I loosened the banjo nut at the filter and I have furl there and I also loosened the line at the fuel rail and I have fuel there as well. Any ideas?

Other than the ground coming off of the tranny, off of the valve cover, ground wire to the starter, thermostat ground, and of course negative battery cable is there anything else that is suppose to be grounded?

How is this relevant to the topic? Those issues from that thread were already resolved.

Looks like you are having many issues with your swap. Might have wanted to keep one running thread.

I am having more issues. But they are different from the wire and hose location issues I was having before. Since these issues are from the same swap I can continue the other thread if you'd like?

It is 100% normal for the CEL to stay lit if you have it jumped and if there is no codes stored in the ECU.

Have you checked your ECU? Have you Checked Your Main Relay? Have You Checked Your Grounds? Have you checked your Fuses? Just because your getting fuel at the fuel rail does not mean that your Injectors are spraying into the cyl's. So let's not confuse the "i have fuel" issue because you may not have fuel at the injectors.

Did you set the mechanical timing (timing belt) correctly?

Are the spark plug wires installed in the correct firing order?

Wires are in the correct firing order. And the timing is correct. Thanks for suggestions.

How would I check my ECU? Just for kicks I plugged in my old ECU (D15B7) and it didnt start with that either.

I have not checked my main relay. I will have to do that.

Grounds should be good. I will doublecheck. I got the one coming off of the valve cover, the thermostat, and the ground coming off of the tranny.

I checked all of the fuses. They are good.

Is spark bright white at all four plugs?

Do the injectors pulse fuel when cranking the engine? Will the engine start with starting fluid?

Have you compression tested the cylinders?
