Does my Civic EX engine have VTEC?
hey i have a automatic 99 civic ex d16y8 (non vtec) and i was wondering if its possible to make it vtec and still have automatic should i swap the motor?? what to do what to do please help!!!!!!

They don't all say vtec on them.
See the solenoid in the middle of the picture, with the green plug on the bottom of it? That's the vtec solenoid. As long as it's there, and assuming your car is completely stock and the CEL is not illuminated, you have vtec.

I suggest the search button, and reading. Seriously, it's all been covered a million times, and it's all covered in the thread I handed you. An intake manifold isn't going to make you any faster.

Don't bother. The most popular ways to make your car faster are swapping to a more powerful motor, or turbocharging the one you have. An automatic transmission means you won't be able to make any real power on your current motor without swapping to a manual.
