check engine light on

Default check engine light on

we just checked on my friends civic the CEL it shows
45 Fuel system too rich or lean any ideas? to fix that

check your spark plugs, pull one out and post a pic.

i would check for vacuum leaks , that would cause a rich condition. but a clogged fuel filter would cause a lean condition and the fuel pressure regulator could cause rich/lean conditions..

Take the car to AutoZone. They will pull the code with a scan tool, which will tell you whether the code is for lean versus rich. This will help with troubleshooting.

looks like carbon build up. Check your timing, and any vacuum leaks.

change them, but find out what cause them first, cause if it happens to those it will happen again to the new ones.
