Default Problem: running rich?

it's a 99 prelude and every time i pull the spark plugs they are wet with fuel. Are they supposed to be like that? I'm throwing codes 45 71 and 72. The car bogs sometimes and hesitates when i step on the gas. PLEASE HELP!!

I know 71-72 are misfires. Check the FAQs, I think they have the codes on this site for the Prelude. How long have you been driving around like that?

It's been like this for awhile but i know that 45 is "System running too lean/rich". BUMP

EDIT: Could running rich cause the misfires?

man that happened to me before. You got to check all your sparking stuff such as spark plugs and cap. make sure the wires are all the way making contact with the plugs. theres no spark to combust the air/fuel so fuel appears there.

is code 45 mean its running lean or rich. if your car is missing, the 02 sensor will see it as a lean condition. if the code is for a rich condition then i wouldnt think its missing.

Could it be that it's not getting enough of a spark to ignite that fuel or is it getting to much fuel? The motor would eventually run after a while of cranking it.

I would start with the spark plug wires, cap, and rotor.

Yea I would bet it is because of lack of spark rather than excessive fuel. Is it misfiring on all cylinders?
