car doesn't start
i was driving normally on the fwy but when i exit, the car suddendly died. the rpms when down and the battery light came on. i recently changed the battery so i'm sure it's not that. the car died a couple time after this incident but when i jump start it, it works. one time, i jump started it, reversed about 3 ft, and it died again. checked out the alternator and starter at kragens and they said it's not that either. what could be the problem?

I had simlar problems, sounds like the same conditions. Try to make sure that your negative terminal on the battery is tight. Thats what my problem was

Did they only test the alternator for output? So if the car doesn't start at all I would check to make sure you have 12volts at the main cable on the alternator. If you don't have 12V then there is a short in that main cable. Get back to us on this. Good luck...

i believe they only tested for output. </TD></TR></TABLE> Tight connection may not be the problem. I would still make sure you have 12V at the main alt cable at the alternator. The big one that bolts down to the top. I will have to get my factory service manual back tomorrow to check out the charging system flow charts. There will be a blue wire going to the clip that connects to the alternator. Turn your key to the ON position and check the voltage on that wire. If it isn't 12 volts replace the voltage regulator. Now that I read your origional post again it sounds like there is a minor short in a wire somewhere.
