Re: boosted b16a3 questions
Does it start to sputter right when you hit vtec? If so you are not getting enough fuel when extra air is introduced. And a fmu is a fuel management unit, it boosts your fuel pressure per every bound of boost, they come in different ratios

Start calling around to see which shop has the hardware to tune your chip. You need to get this resolved by a professional. Better get some cash too.

Re: boosted b16a3 questions
with tuning software like CromePRO, i'd expect to be somewhere around 500-600 with a dyno tune including the installation of the chip. That will be your least expensive route. Trust me tuning is what makes or breaks a car, now is not the time to be cheap.

Re: boosted b16a3 questions
I dunno, I'd be weary if the guy was anything like you..."so the guy whos gonna buy it is gonna deal with it"... Seriously, my buddy blew his motor running it on a base tune, and the funny thing was that when it blew he was in traffic coming up to a stop light at 3k rpm. That being said, just because you don't rip on it doesn't mean that it won't blow...in your case you rip on it anyway...I would take the wastegate spring out or disconnect the intake tube from the turbo or TB and run a stock ecu till you can get that thing tuned.

Re: boosted b16a3 questions
Get the damn thing tuned. The least of your concerns is the sputtering at this point...you could be looking needing a whole new shortblock soon if you keep this up. Save up from a Crome chipped P28 if you dont have one, then some dyno time. You should be able to get a street tune at least...and not pay more than $300

Re: boosted b16a3 questions
k24 turbo trade for a b16 turbo? wow. if he's willing to do that, obviously he's got some issues, serious too. if you don't have funds to get it tuned, maybe you need to stop driving it and beating on it before you do any more damage.
The wastegate is bouncing from 7-10 psi, that's a problem too.
