piece a turbo kit together get a good tune and dont push over 200hp. if u buy a cheap turbo kit be prepared to kep fixing things like turbo seals, manifolds cracking, wastegates going to shyt. you will wanna upgrade ur fuel pump and injectors. stock ignition can handle 300hp or more.

bare minimum i meant like will i need to upgrade any engine internals? and apexi what would the best turbo be that you'd recommend? the motors got maybe 90k on it its been well maintained and by a good tune do you mean a whole new ecu? ive got a d16z6 vtec head im in the process of rebuilding as well or should i just leave it non vtec?

what kind of power are u looking for? stock rods are not going to hold much more then 200hp. yes as in tune and buy a chipped p28 ecu. get a base map and have some one that can street tune it for u or dyno.

stock motor is good for 200hp. im running a gt28r which is ball bearing and not a very cheap turbo. some run 16g's from eclipse's,14b turbo's. many like to run the t3/t4 setups but u dont want anything bigger then a 57 trim. bigger the turbo the more lag ur going to get.

most ebay ones are journal turbo and seals blow out quickly if u do not run a oil restrictor. those turbos do the job sometimes they lag alil bit. u want something with a .48 a/r exhaust housing. turbo im running is the same as a s15 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/S15-G...Q5fCarQ5fParts

Research and understanding is the key to piecing together and building a reliable boosted engine.

Do a compression test/leak down and make sure the engine is in solid running condition. Piece together a turbo kit for as little as you're willing to spend but use a quality manifold and a quality turbo, the only two things you shouldn't skimp on.

The most important thing is getting a good tuner who knows what they're doing. 200whp should be no problem.

Comp/leak test, clean the Z6 head and swap it, simple GReddy kit with a tune. Pretty basic and a lot of fun.

Overpriced! And you still have to get an intercooler. And the Emanage is quite limited with it's tuning capabilities. I picked up a used Greddy turbo and manifold 2 years ago for $400. For a little bit more money I'd get a GoAutoworks kit.

Overall it's it most times better and more cost effective to piece a kit together rather than buying one like a Greddy or an Edelbrock.
