89 integ engine into 93 civic?
I own a 93 civic ex and the engine is going to die on me soon. I have a buddy that has a totaled 89 integ and I was wondering will the engine bolt on to my civic? How about the pedal assembly? as I am thinking about doing a 5 speed change-over. Is the tranny from the integ a cable or hydraulic tranny? Thanks in advance for the replys.

Those motors in the 1986-1989 Integra are weaker than the D16Z6 that you're trying to replace.
D16Z6 = 125hp
D16A1 86-87 - 112hp
D16A1 88-89 - 118hp
Plus the mounts are in totally different places on those motors.

You're in CA - tons and shitloads of swap sources, importers, etc. out there.
Here's what I'd look for you if I were you:
1. DOHC ZC 1.6L- GREY plug, OBD1 motor. 132hp
2. SOHC ZC VTEC 1.6L - OBD1 with grey plugs. ~130hp or so
3. D15B SOHC 1.5L VTEC - OBD1 with grey plugs. ~130hp as well
That's what I'd be looking for if you want the cheapest motor around that will not be a downgrade from your current 125hp D16Z6.
Any of those motors will allow you to retain your current tranny, axles, shift linkage, and the 2 and 3rd options will let you keep your P28 ECU also.
If you want to you can also ask for the tranny with the motor. Then get pedals, shift linkage, clutch master and slave cylinders, and all of the clutch hard and soft lines from any 1992-1995 manual Civic or 1994-2001 Integra.

Re: 89 integ engine into 93 civic? (bad93ex)
Do you need the motor right away? Because I would just save for a real swap. Like a b16a or better.
And maybe not everyone wants a B series. I'm sick and ******* tired of all you trend humping fashion lemmings going swap this, swap that. **** swaps! Do you know that a USED B18C5 costs twice as much as a BRAND NEW 450 HP Ford 460 long block? I know you can't use the 460 in a Honda, but Jesus H ******* Christ, why the **** would you spend $6000 on a goddamn 195 HP motor? Oh, that's right... because bad93ex said so. Hey, I'll just do what everyone else is doing and be different by following the herd! Maybe the guy just wants a different motor, but has a mortgage, or a tuition, or alimony (sic) to pay, so he can't afford to get raped in the *** with a rusty wire coathanger. Ever think of that? Maybe the guy has PRIORITIES and is just fooling with Hondas as a hobby.

Re: 89 integ engine into 93 civic? (Loco Honkey)
Well said Loco Honkey, my main problem is the tranny. I have been looking around at wreckers and they want about $400 for the tranny. I can get a b18c1 for about 2 grand, but I'm choosing to keep the d16 and boostin it. As for getting a b16, I also own a 00' civic si and like Loco Honkey said it is overrated.

Loco...how do you feel about the B18B's out there?
they gave me a good torque gain and i got the swap cheap. but i get beat by Si swapped hatches in the long run. Dont get me wrong because the coupes never catch up BUT a b16 hatch will kill me in topend
