I need some help on swaping engine
I have a 1993 Civic LX, it came with 1.5L SOHC non-VTEC /w Manual tranny. the engine broke down. I wanted to replace it with a bigger engine with more HP. The question is: which engine that have the most power that I can fit in the car without swaping the transmission. Please let me know. Thanks

Re: I need some help on swaping engine
if you are keeping the same tranny then you want the d16z6, 1.6 sohc vtec with 130hp, you will need to wire up the vtec to the ecu also, but that tranny will make then engine much slower in acceleration due to the gearing, you can pick up a whole d16 swap for $400 so i would go that route

OBD1 DOHC ZC. most powerful d-series engine made (135-140hp), and it's a direct swap into your car. just chip your P06 ecu for the DOHC ZC maps. that's what i did and i'm happy with it. you can usually find engine only shipped for 700-800 bucks. not to mention they're great for boosting later down the road.
