00 si gear grinding?
i have an 00 si and when i shift to 5th gear it grinds alittle going in. do i need to adjust something, or do i need a new 5th gear? thanks

Honda's Have super cheap trany's. People bring them to me all the time with bad syncros and striped gears. There not worth fixing. You best bet is to change your trans fluid with something heavy, like LSD oil. You can get it a most auto parts stores. Your car takes 2 1/2 quarts.

Thats true about the tranny being cheap, but a lot of the time the problem is the blocking ring (or syncro ring). And that isn;t too expensive to fix, as long as you catch it before it starts to tear up the gears or syncro itself. And adding a heavier oil won't do much, its kinda like a bandaid it works OK for a while then your back to square 1. Only worse than when you started.
