Alright, crusing along in 4th gear at say 50mph or so and i want to go into 3rd.. it wont let me shift into 3rd until the rev's drop to 2500rpms?? this common, stock 00 si ecu and a p28 ecu.. both same things so is it the tranny?

Prolly the tranny.

There is a TSB for 00 si's on the 3rd gear syncro.


I forgot the website that shows you the TSB.

 

TSB = Technical Service Bulletins ?

even if you double clutch ? what about other gears ?

mmm havn't tried double clutching yet. i'll do that on the way home from work. every other gear is fine though.

 

I see a new tranny in your future

 

sounds loike a problem with the syncro. But i think the cost of having someone rip that tranny open and replace just that one syncro is not worth it. Just save up and get a spoon type r tranny! LSD baby!!!

 

yeahh thats what i thought, i'll have the new tranny when i get my ls block done and put in. till then i'll live on not being able to down shift into 3rd all to great

My tranny grinds when I stick it into 3rd at high revs. Eh oh well, If i want 3rd I'm going to get it damnit

i'd like to just drop in a LSD, like a qualife(sp) but if i need a whole new tranny, thats gonna suck.. oh well more things to add to the ls/vtec project.

 

whoa! woot. calm down man. im just trying to help the guy. so i dont think there is any reason to be calling names. And i dont think most of the people on this forum appreciate that kind of attitude and that kind of a reply. Were on this forum to help eachother man, not to be kids.
