Thanks for lookin out Erik. I'm cool though. I'll just keep an eye out for any noticeable signs of stress on the subframe from time to time.

**EDIT**
I forgot to ask you... what type of cars were your friends driving, who had the ripped out subframes from using the BSQ kits?

LS's and GSR's using the 22mm R bar with varying suspensions from stock ITR shocks and springs to things like Koni Yellows with rates as high as 400-450 lb/in.

Here's what I posted on anothe forum..

After a good 20-30 minute drive today from school, I parked my gsr at my house. After I parked her, I went around to the passenger side to grab my books and camera gear out of my car. After that I noticed there was steam coming from the hood, next to my windshield.. it had a white color to it. Popped the hood and noticed there was some liquid sprayed around where my throttle body is, it sprewed on my intake, to the battery, top of hood a bit, etc. I then moved the gsr from the spot I parked her in and noticed there was a puddle on the ground.

I touched it and it felt a little oily, but didn't realy smell like oil... had a yellow tint to it too. Next I moved it back to the original spot I parked her and noticed another spot (she only sat like a minute in the second spot).. was just like the first puddle. I then started her up and poppped the hood. Everything looked fine, aside from the liquid from before. revved the engine a little, didnt notice anything spraying around. Then I checked my oil and everything was fine. Could I have a leaky hose for my coolant.. or am I not even leaking coolant?

nobody has responded either.. oh and no, i didnt get undernieth the car to check it out.

it looks like it is right around the throttle body because there is some of the liquid on top of it.

should i determine what the problem is and then take it to a garage or is it an easy fix?

just depends on what the problem is. A leak like that will be easy to find and if it's in a hose (most likely) then that's a simple 10 minute, $10 fix. Just need to make sure it's really coolant and find the leak.

On the way back from the club later at night I pulled up to a gas station and white smoke started coming from under my hood. My coolant was boiling over. Good Luck with your gsr.

i've got a coolant problem too. after we put a plastic intaake manifold gasket on it started leaking...but it only leaks enough to smell it. it never puddles or anything.

not that anyone's nterested, but i started saving my pennies for my rust problem. i'm tired of my car looking like sh*t.

TO all with leaks by a pressure tester or rig something up!! You do not want a pocket of air in the system.. one can be had for around 40$$ and you will have it forever!

no that is like a glorified boost gauge!! that i believe is for detecting map to see if you have a vacumn leak, also will tell you your fuel pressure!

You need something like this, a little more then i thought http://www.thetoolwarehouse.ne....html

Also if you get one you will have better results putting the tester on the rad then let it run till the t-stat opens, so your not forcing it through the jiggle pins of the t-stat.SHUT CAR OFF. Then pump till the gauge says what psi is on cap i think 17psi *just dont go crazy over* then i watch the gauge to see if it falls in pressure if does PUMP AND SEARCH FOR LEAK !!!

hopefully. i'm gonna try to get it done before spring. i think i'm getting the whole quarter panels...i don't trust anybody to match the body lines and i have tiny rust spots behind the moldings and plenty of dents.. along with the 1/4's, i'm gonna get my rear bumper repainted. it looks like hell. plus we took off the ghey option2 sticker and it took clear coat with.

my hatch my need replaced to. where the spoiler would go, there's a sh*t ton of tiny dents where most of you put your hand to close the hatch. theres just too many to fix. not to mention the clear coat isn't shinny any more

for garage spots
for parking outside
