The Official EF Discussion Thread
They have templates, so the wait isnt bad.
On a side note - I found my window scrapers (also called sashes) from a friend, if someone needs any, PM me and I'll see if he can get more.
Nice. I actually have a set bnib Honda oem. Bought them off someone from this hread but can't remember who. Gonna put them on this year. Also bought BNIB door moldings from the same person but mine are in decent condition so ill probably just hang onto them as a backup
I also need both inner door handle assemblies - let me know if someone has any...
I'm picking up a dome light, rear si badge, the sashes - all OEM new in box. I'm going to see if i can get more molding clips so i dont have to worry when I pull the moldings when i get the car painted.
for those with b series in a ef.. anyone cut n move the shifter tunnel to fit the b series shift linkage? im thinking that may be the way id go if possible. i know the plastics may not fit but most plastics getting ditched
Don't you cut and weld the linkage instead if needed?. Why on earth would you cut the tunnel. Also Hasport makes linkages for b series into ef's if you need one.
interior plastics.
sitting in the car i felt the shifter being too far forward. i have an aftermarket steering wheel boss that puts the steering wheel further back and might even get a deep corn steering wheel. and its only 2 3/8 in further back right? shouldnt be hard to do. i hear the hasport linkage is crap but cutting and welding oem shift linkage is better. why not on earth?

seriously - why dont you cut up the car and rebuild it around the engine.
That makes as much sense as what you're trying to do with the shifter, you should not need to cut the tunnel or the plastics. You either adjust the linkage or the shifter itself. Do you maybe have the shifter hooked up backwards so it angles forward instead of back?

Blows ya mind that I'd cut up my $1500 car huh? Actually it still has the mighty sohc that I never plan on putting back in. So no i do not have the shifter hooked up backwards so it angles forward instead of back.
Makes more sense than whatever it is you're trying to say.

And if you dont understand that you either adjust the linkage or the shifter instead of just randomly cutting up the trans tunnel - well maybe cars shouldnt be your hobby. In all this time that people have been swapping b's into EF's, no one has ever HAD to cut the tunnel or plastics. if you were doing an f20 into it maybe, or even if you wanted to do a crazy dash mounted cable shifter (has been done) but what about your set up is so different that it would require cutting into either one of those things rather than getting a shifter extender, a fastline performance shifter, or adjusting the pivot point of your shifter?
But hey, like you said, its your $1500, so turn it into lawn art for all i care - there's just no sense in destroying a car just to destroy it.
never said i HAD to cut the tunnel. cars stopped being my hobby a long time ago, making lawn art took its place.
check this build out... they made it way more complicated than it needed to be maybe cars shouldnt be their hobby either.

You are asking about a B series swap which uses non-cable linkage. The same engines that these EF's are equipped with in Japan, which is why there should be no need to cut the trans tunnel or plastics - they are made to go together very easily.
