The Official EF Discussion Thread
Cant go lower, i needed to raise it, tires scrape fenders, downpipe drags. Not to mention a hard 1 2 3 shift it bangs the car on the pavement.
Rex looks clean there. what tires are on those rpf's? and I don't think I ever realized the lip spoiler, new?
Clipsed, I have to ask b/c you seem to know what your doing and please don't take this the wrong way... Im just curios, why did you strip the entire car to bare metal? to find any imperfections? Looks like you used a wiz wheel too in some places..
I know you have been on a bead blasting spree, but are you using any metal treatment on all that bare metal?
Guess Im just wondering what the overall plan is? let it oxidize and rust and be like that rusty rex but sedan version? maybe polish it all up now and just clear the car?!?! PLease do share.
I had decided to remove the original paint before laying down the new paint. I realize it wasn't necessary but I decided it was best to start on a fresh slate get everything nice and smooth. I actually found quite a few imperfections that I need realized I had with the paint on the car. Glad I went this route as I don't want them showing up later after the car is pained since the color im going with is super unforgiving! As for doing irt I used a 60 grit flap wheel on a grinder.
a lot more info on that incident

Lookin at pictures I guess. I've done a lot of homework in terms of what is functional and what is not. The canards are just a compliment to everything else, especially now that I have a strong splitter set-up. I've seen canards angled way up but that's just asking for drag.
looks really good nick.
i cut my oil pan apart and redesigned something is should have redesigned years ago.
the F and H pans are not flat on the bottom, because the engines are angled rear-wards in accords/preludes. this makes the back of the pan higher, with it sloping downwards towards the front of the engine when mated to D/B trannies.
its been baffled, but it still lost some pressure on hoosiers in really long lefthand sweepers.
i chopped the sump off, dropped it down, re-did pickup, etc.
going to instruct for chin motorsports this weekend at autobahn, and i'll find out if it works then.
filled with water checking for leaks...

what a pain in the neck. i used slightly thicker material, and it should make the pan pretty fricken strong too. for some reason this lighting makes it look terrible. it actually looks pretty good. the drain is on the front if your curious (moved it there years ago.)
before VIR i built an ITR rear bar mount/subframe brace, and an under-arm exhaust too, because the ITR bar kills some exhaust room. couldnt have worked out or sounded better. before you all say its gonna rub the ground, i know, it did. twice so far. once on the big curb leaving work, and once on an apex strip on a slight off at at VIR in turn 4.
i couldnt care less. and its SO EASY TO DROP OFF THE CAR. love that. haha
i just repainted it with better paint...VIR killed it. haha

and obligatory crappy pic on the way to a bikeride. notice my splitter...which is nowhere near as nice as nicks. haha

Nick, that looks great. no oem lip tucked behind there? Looks to sit very flush. That front is looking hard! Are those canards from top one? I think they are gonna blow up this year.. seem to have a whole new line coming out, pretty stoked.
Maybe it is time to sell the RRG one.. hmm...
Nice work RED, was gonna ask about the drain too actually! haha.. I went with a moroso, hope the baffles help out, I admire your desire to build it your own way though and specific to your own set-up, let us know how it works out..
Question with the exhaust... why not run it over the arm? or even just have it dump center or out pass side? Just curious.. everything looks solid man. keep it up!

over-arm is a pain, and tighter with the ITR bar, and its 3''.
and i just wanted to see if it worked. haha
used to have a side-exit exhaust. lots of drone/noise/etc. this is the quietest exhaust i've ever had. its much nicer... i can actually communicate with passengers. it was too loud before to even talk with the in-helmet communicator i use. sucked. its going to be SO quiet with the turbo (being re-installed after i test this pan this weekend.)
