Not looking forward to the cold months myself. Hope to get some good wrench'n in before surgery again and be able to finally take the queen out next season. Taking the beater to the track one last time this weekend for Fall Nationals. Slow bracket racing, but to me its fun!

I hope this thread doesnt die through the winter, we may need to change the name to the The Official EF DISCUSSION and RANDOM BANTER thread. I always wonder how we stick to 5-10 people in here but you go to the Picture thread and there is tons of EF's being thrown up. Is it time we let outsiders in?!?!

Blu- I thought you just did the head and all that after your belt slipped at the track a while back? or did I miss a page somewhere..

Get a cheep ls, trust me. Use the other one for building.

Ls = b20 block, both shorter than itr/gsr

In other news took the crx out at midnight, man was that fun, had a couple nasty pulls in the cold crisp night.

That’s why I’m in this predicament

It spun a bearing like 2 months after I got it tuned. Sold everything (minus transmission) and went turbo. Haven’t driven the car since March

Hey track experts, is this switch ok for a road course. I wanna mount the solinoid really low under the dash and the toggle switch on the Driver air vent.

b20/ls/b18c/b16b all have the same deck height at 212mm.. its the longer stroke that gives it more displacement. the b16/17 has a 203mm height.

b20s are fine if tuned correctly

I'll be honest, I've never seen anyone use a toggle switch, just the big **** like what I use. BUT, that doesn't mean the toggle switch is any less effective. For HPDE, it's fine, but for actual racing you'd have to look at some rules.

For all you boosted guys:
Q?
for the FMIC charge piping on the driver side,
did you have to relocate your windshield resivor tank? if so where to?

If you must retain the reservoir, I suggest you get a back door intercooler. I got rid of my res for the same reason. I dont really miss it cuz I keep my car pretty clean and if the windshield gets dirty, I go to a gas station and clean it.

Just find a smaller one from another car. Get creative if you must. Use rain-x when you run out of ideas.

anybody ever put their batt. in the REAR bumper?

i need more weight back there on track...and i need less weight on the front, like i have. mine is currently behind the front bumper, like boosted chemist's.

get an ls, for the extra .2l its not worth it imo. Yes a tune can prevent it dying but all boosted motors take their tolls over time. Ive seen PLENTY ls make 300 whp and last a decent time.

What is wrong with your bad motor? A set of new pistons and some used eagle rods isnt that pricey.

Build it yourself man, come on, thats a cop out. I never built a motor till my b16a and it made 450whp and lasted 5 years. Screw the shop.

it's already at the shop is what i'm saying. easier for me to get another engine, give it to them to put in and then get it dyno'd (hoping they let me and a friend put it in, but not sure if their insurance will allow)
