i hit just over 200whp with the cams not dialed in properly yet...

98 SPEC JDM ITR swap (B18C)
Skunk2 Pro2 cams
Rocket Motorsport valvetrain
Wiseco 13:1 pistons
Skunk2 Mani
Spoon throttlebody
AN-R header
RS*R Exmag exhaust

revved to about 9500rpm with max hp at about 8900. it should've hit the 210-220 whp mark if i have kept it long enough to throw it on the dyno again.

i doubt you would be able to drive it around with 13:1. the headers are the least of your worries. ha. especially on cali gas

Whoa, that pic looks weird Reynard, in one your rad stay seems to have only a slight angle and lays pretty flat on the rad support, in the other pic it looks like a 90 bend and 2" high?

Rocket Motorsports titanium valves, springs and retainers. no porting or polishing as the motor only had about 30k on it.

as for the header making gains, i'm not totally sure because everything went on at the same time and got dyno'd like that, so i don't really have anything to compare to. but, it cleared a lot of things tho as it merges into the collector before it goes under the oil pan.

Man am I jumping through hoops. I contacted Moss motors who are handling JRSC's now and originally, when I called they said all I need to get a reissue of EO docs and stickers was the original purchaser name of my kit.

And RedStandard got me that right away. Then I call with the info and they say they actually need a copy of the original receipt if possible and a bill of sale from Red's friend to me.

The guy said they make him jump through hoops to re-issue the EO docs. But he did say if I sent him full pics of the kit with a close up of the snout pic with the JR logo and # clear, he may be able to help me. Either that, OR I may have to get it installed at one of their approved shops so they can verify the kit is what it is.

This was so much simpler before they came out with the race only kits.

Okay lads, my cat is now coming out of the bag.

I will be trading my clean 91 CRX Si to a friend for a clean 92 GTi 16V. Reason being, I am also selling my Acura CL and I need something I can park anywhere, drive anywhere and my wife and daughter can jump into with me OR if we need to swap cars, she needs to be able to fit her, our daughter and her pediatric (5 years old) patient (she’s an LVN pediatric home care nurse).

THAT PLUS the fact having two project cars as well as more projects around the house that are starting to demand attention, it’s getting hard to split funds between the 2 cars and the house. I haven’t wrenched on either car for almost a year.

My CRX will be going to my friend OEM, he wants no mods, he wants it stock and I want the parts for the Civic. Plus he works for Honda, so he just wants to have fun getting every OEM piece he can brand new on the car. We do have an agreement that if he is going to let it go, I get priority.

Now, I know I could most likely sell it and get some cash and just buy his car for a little less, but if I do that, I know I will never see the car again, or perhaps may not want to.

Pic for ref...

From the EF Meet –

And for some stuff I thought was cool – a sign I nicked in my younger days from Edwards Atlantic Theater in Alhambra when they first installed speed bumps to try and keep lowered cars from going into the parking lot and set off alarms with the exhaust…

An OG back in the day Pro-Motion T shirt

And a shirt from the first North Vs. South Battle of the Imports hosted up in Nor-Cal.

Yes I will miss him (I refer to him as a good buddy) but he’ll be just a visit away. Plus I do still have an 89 Civic Si that I intend on rebuilding with my daughter when we have time but def am in no rush. So I’ll still be here.

it is hard, i thought i'd hold onto this one to give to my daughter and have her start autoxing in, etc...it is a hard pill to swallow.

I'll post pics of the gti when it gets here. it's black, but i wish it was that montana green color.

EDIT: Vega, that's the thing, we don't 'need' another car, esp another 4 door.
My wife has a new volvo v50 wagon & I have a CL, the crx and teh civic. The gti works for me right now and for a while. I can avoid having to buy another car or finance something I dont need to right now and get more done to the house. I dont need to rush putting the civic back together to use as a daily and i dont have to subject the crx to that duty either.

Actually I haven't yet. I didnt want to snap any pics until i'm sure it's a done deal. But I'll post em up once the GTi is here.

By the way, I'm sure a bunch of you guys have this answer, if I have 89 civic fenders with the corner lamps that have the exposed screw, if I change to the SIR front end, that uses the 91 style corner with the hidden screw, right?

Day One of GRM 2008$ challenge: We took 3rd place out of 51 cars in the autocross event. we were the only guys with a team driver (not a "pro") that did relatively well... haha
