Hey gents, havent posted in a while - was wondering, anyone in socal, or CA in general get a JDM engine BAR'd lately?

I havent kept up on things, and last I was told was that you could not get a JDM engine BAR'd any longer unless it was the direct replacement. IE SOHC A6 for JDM SOHC ZC.

In other words if you were trying to get a JDM swap passed, it was a flat NO.

I need to know, as I need to figure some next steps.

from what i read on this site, if you have a USDM B16 engine and get it BAR'd then that will free you up to use a JDM engine since it would be a direct replacement. don't quote me b/c i'm on the other side of the US. there was a lot of info posted somewhere up here

used to be a regular junk yard until they converted it to a u-pull-it i'd say a couple weeks ago. they may not have got around to changing their automated phone service. yes, they are open on the weekends

Well I found another parts car. It's a CRX. The lady doesn't remember if it's an '89 or '90, she'll have to check the title. She said it's blue with a black interior. Do any of you CRX honks know which models came with that color combo? Btw, it doesn't have a motor, but she says the body is clean with no rust. She only wants $100!

They don't. They are white slipstreams with Regamaster stickers. Haha. Just playin. Desmonds do come in 4 bolt. I love these ones because they are the "final" versions. Only holes in the center are those for the studs. I forgot to change out my track pads, drove 4 miles to the meet and the wheels were diiiiiiiiiiiiirty. Hahaha.

It's got to be celestial blue or something because superior blue only came with a blue interior. I think celestial blue was an '89 only color. Don't quote me. There's a thread on H-T that lists CRX colors and years.

Please oh please let me know if you get this car. I need a lot of parts

There are a bunch of little things that a different between 88-89 and 90-91. Look at the corner lights, if they have 2 screws in the side then its 88-89. The moldings on the bumpers are fatter on the 88-89. The cluster bezel will be more square looking on the 88-89. lol I have never seen a blue and black combo... I have seen the Teal crx with black interior. Those are just some of the things I can think of off the top of my head. Hopefully that helps you out.

Well, I took a break from work to go look at it and the lady obviously had no clue what year it was because it's pre-EF, like '87 and older. I'm really bummed.

I'm good at picking out the differences, but I hadn't seen it when I talked to the lady on the phone. I was just hoping someone could point out which model that combo was offered in so I could know what to expect, but come to find out it was all a waste of time.

Smacked a road alligator on the way home last night. yanked the bulb out of my corner light and did something to the hood cable, now I cant open the hood.

I was coming home to put on a swaybar too.
